Basketball Game Preview: Avant Garde Academy Sharks vs. Somerset Academy Central Miramar Warriors

After both having extra time off, the Avant Garde Academy Sharks and the Somerset Academy Central Miramar Warriors will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Avant Garde Academy is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Somerset Academy Key just ended the team's four-game winning streak two weeks ago. They took a blow against the Lions, falling 75-48.

Meanwhile, Somerset Academy Central Miramar was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap back in December of 2024 as they fell 57-53 to Cristo Rey. While the Warriors didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Monarchs 12-8 in the first quarter.

Avant Garde Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Somerset Academy Central Miramar, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Avant Garde Academy against Somerset Academy Central Miramar when the teams last played back in November of 2023, as the team secured a 91-28 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Avant Garde Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
