Baseball Recap: Ezekiel Academy Takes a Loss

Ezekiel Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 14-2 to the Edgewood Academy Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 9-8 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Ezekiel Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brennan Hancock, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Ethan Bailey also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Ezekiel Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Edgewood Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Looking ahead, Ezekiel Academy will be taking part in a tournament against Patrician Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Ezekiel Academy has given up an average of 12.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Edgewood Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Ezekiel Academy at 6:00 p.m.
