Basketball Game Preview: Wheaton Academy Warriors vs. St. Francis Spartans

The Wheaton Academy Warriors will face off against the St. Francis Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

St. Francis is facing Wheaton Academy at the wrong time: Wheaton Academy suffered their first home loss of the season last Saturday and they're likely out for redemption. They fell just short of the Dons by a score of 56-54. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Warriors have suffered since November 25, 2023.

Meanwhile, St. Francis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 57-34 to Fenwick. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while the Friars are ranked 30th).

Wheaton Academy's loss ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-4. As for St. Francis, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.
