Softball Recap: Harrison Gets the Win

While Harrison's win against Roncalli wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Raiders won by a run and slipped past the Royals 6-5. That's more bragging rights for the Raiders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Bradi Odom spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on 12 hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ashley Dunk was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Mallory Duell, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Harrison is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Roncalli, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harrison will face off against Carmel at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Greyhounds have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.71 runs per game on average), something the Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Roncalli, they will head out on the road to square off against Heritage Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
