It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Fonda-Fultonville had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Coxsackie-Athens Riverhawks 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Valley Hawks have posted since May 3, 2024.

Grace Furnare was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Furnare was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Harper Huckans, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs. Sigourney Myles was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Fonda-Fultonville has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
