Softball Recap: Martin County Wins Going Away Against Southside

While Martin County put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Southside. The Martin County Gators were the clear victor by a 14-0 margin over the Southside Seahawks. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Gators.

Kyla Beach was a standout: she scored two runs while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Harmony Hoo was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

Martin County's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Southside, they dropped their record down to 2-1 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Martin County didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 20-9 victory against North Pitt on the 10th. As for Southside, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 17-2 win against Bertie on the 11th.
