Pleasant Grove waltzed into their contest on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 67-18 win over the Tarrant Wildcats. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Wildcats are ranked 354th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Tarrant lost, don't look at Zarriyah Carter. Despite the final result, she posted two points in addition to 17 boards and three blocks. Carter is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down 11 or more in the last 15 games she's played.

Pleasant Grove has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for Tarrant, they dropped their record down to 6-19 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Pleasant Grove has already played their next contest (against Oak Grove), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Tarrant will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Center Point at 6:00 p.m.
