Recap: Patapsco Patriots vs. Catonsville Comets
The Patapsco Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight defeat. They suffered a rough 51-29 defeat at the hands of Catonsville. While losing is never fun, Patapsco can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while Catonsville is ranked 95th).
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Trinity Burk, who scored nine points.
Patapsco's defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-13. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.8 points per game. As for Catonsville, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-7.
Patapsco will head out on the road to challenge Kenwood at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Kenwood is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.9 points per game this season. As for Catonsville, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Towson. Towson's defense has only allowed 29.8 points per game this season, so Catonsville's offense will have their work cut out for them.
