Softball Recap: Chaparral Takes a Loss

If Chaparral was feeling good fresh off their 16-1 takedown of Belle Plaine on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Roadrunners fell just short of the Douglass Bulldogs by a score of 7-6 on Monday. The Roadrunners were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 10-9.

Makiya Maka and Nackenzie Macias stepped up to the plate in a big way. Maka went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI, while Macias went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Maka also scored a run, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Alyvia Rhodes, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Chaparral's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Douglass, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Chaparral beat the Bulldogs by a score of 18-15 later that day.
