Basketball Recap: Diamond Hill-Jarvis Takes a Loss

Diamond Hill-Jarvis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. The game between them and the Benbrook Bobcats didn't end well, with the Diamond Hill-Jarvis Eagles falling 49-35. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 66-48 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Diamond Hill-Jarvis lost, don't look at Anthony Elizondo. Despite the final result, he went 9 of 17 on his way to 26 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Elizondo's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points.

Jayden Hall was the offensive standout of the match as he went 6 for 12 to rack up 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. He is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kade Cross, who posted nine points and five boards.

Diamond Hill-Jarvis' defeat dropped their record down to 10-21. As for Benbrook, their win bumped their record up to 17-14.

We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. Diamond Hill-Jarvis is facing Carter-Riverside at the right time seeing as Carter-Riverside is stuck on a 14-game losing streak. As for Benbrook, they will challenge Southwest at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Benbrook is on a three-game streak of home wins, Southwest a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
