Baseball Recap: Amundsen Comes Up Short

Amundsen lost against Lane Tech on Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Vikings fell just short of the Champions by a score of 6-5. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Amundsen got a good showing from Ian Johnson, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest earned runs Johnson has allowed since back in March.

At the plate, Asher Antonyzyn was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Noah Gaietto was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Amundsen's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Lane Tech, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.

Amundsen wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 9-0 loss against Von Steuben on the 30th. As for Lane Tech, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-6 win against Lincoln Park on the 30th.
