Softball Recap: Shorecrest Prep Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

If Shorecrest Prep was riding high fresh off their 16-0 takedown of Admiral Farragut last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Chargers came up short against the Tampa Catholic Crusaders on Wednesday, falling 10-2. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Chargers, who until this game were averaging 3.83 runs allowed.

Shorecrest Prep saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madi Bidwell, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Bidwell has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Shorecrest Prep's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-3. As for Tampa Catholic, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Coming up, Shorecrest Prep is taking a road trip to square off against Saint Stephen's Episcopal at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tampa Catholic, they will host Berkeley Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Buccaneers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Crusaders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
