Football Recap: Wesson Takes Down Perry Central in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Wesson had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past the Perry Central Bulldogs 49-14. Considering the Cobras have won seven contests by more than 22 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Damarion Smith had an outrageously good game as he picked up 122 receiving yards and a pair of scores. He showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 51 yards.

Wesson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 270 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 164 rushing yards in six consecutive matchups.

Although Perry Central took the loss, they still got scores from Kameron Moody and Cephus Pruitt Jr.

Wesson's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-0. As for Perry Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.

Wesson has already played their next game, a 28-26 loss against Mize on the 14th. Perry Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
