Baseball Recap: Kirk Academy's Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

Kirk Academy came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Marshall Academy Patriots, falling 12-3. The matchup marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Kirk Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jace West, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

With the loss, Kirk Academy broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Marshall Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season.

While Kirk Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
