Basketball Recap: Vero Beach Comes Up Short

Vero Beach was the 55-51 winner over Okeechobee when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Vero Beach Indians fell just short of the Okeechobee Brahmans by a score of 41-39 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 276th, while the Brahmans are ranked 100th).

Vero Beach has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Okeechobee, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

When Vero Beach and Okeechobee next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Vero Beach will try to stop Oakleaf's six-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Okeechobee will take on South Fork and their three-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
