Basketball Recap: Sumner Academy Comes Up Short

Sumner Academy lost against Eisenhower back in January of 2018 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Sumner Academy Sabres took a 60-41 bruising from the Eisenhower Tigers. The Sabres were down 54-21 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Owen Stanberry went supernova for Eisenhower, going 7 for 12 on his way to 18 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Stanberry a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Romari Howard, who went 6 of 7 en route to 13 points and six rebounds.

Sumner Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4-1. As for Eisenhower, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 3-8 record.

Sumner Academy has already played their next matchup (against Lawrence), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Eisenhower didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-42 loss against Blue Valley Southwest on the 24th.
