Basketball Recap: Kenesaw Falls Despite Big Games from Maddox Wagoner and Adam Denkert

After flying high against Franklin last Friday, Kenesaw came back down to earth. The Kenesaw Blue Devils fell 51-40 to the Pleasanton Bulldogs on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Devils of the 45-44 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Kenesaw's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Adam Denkert, who went 5 of 8 en route to 12 points, and Maddox Wagoner, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jravin Suck, who earned six points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Kenesaw smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 13 consecutive games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pleasanton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brennan Lindner, who put up 21 points. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Lindner has scored at least a third of Pleasanton's points. Haden Smith was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Kenesaw has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season. As for Pleasanton, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kenesaw has already played their next match (against Deshler), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Pleasanton has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Fullerton.
