Volleyball Game Preview: North Kingstown Skippers vs. La Salle Academy Rams

North Kingstown has won 23 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while La Salle Academy has won 23 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Skippers will host the Rams at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

North Kingstown is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Coventry, who was ranked 13th at the time (North Kingstown was ranked first). The Skippers blew past the Oakers 3-0 on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, La Salle Academy posted their closest victory since April 5th on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against East Providence, sneaking past 3-2.

La Salle Academy wouldn't go down easily and took East Providence into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-20, 25-23, 21-25, 15-9.

North Kingstown's win bumped their record up to 26-0. As for La Salle Academy, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Wednesday's game: North Kingstown has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 5.7 aces per game. However, it's not like La Salle Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
