Softball Game Preview: Bigelow Panthers vs. Booneville Bearcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Bigelow Panthers duke it out with Booneville Bearcats at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Bigelow has given up an average of 7.9 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bigelow is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest loss since March 14th last Thursday. They came up short against Perryville, falling 17-2. The Panthers' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Bigelow saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hana Staples, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Booneville). Their pitchers stepped up to hand Cedarville a 19-0 shutout on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Bearcats sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Booneville's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Bigelow, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.
