Baseball Recap: Douglas Comes Up Short

Douglas was the 11-1 winner over Sutherlin when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Trojans fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 15-14 on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (ten), the Trojans still had to take the loss.

Douglas dropped their record down to 8-13 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 2.5 runs. As for Sutherlin, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-13.

While Douglas had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
