Baseball Game Preview: South Garner Titans vs. American Leadership Academy-Johnston Patriots

The South Garner Titans will face off against the American Leadership Academy-Johnston Patriots at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Things were looking good for South Garner after they put the first points on the board on Saturday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against Rolesville, falling 15-5.

Henny Mejia made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Rogers, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, American Leadership Academy-Johnston put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Cape Hatteras with a sharp 12-1 victory.

Frank Henry looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out six over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Calvin Hooks was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. He also put up two hits, which were his first of the season. Gavin Jackson was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.

American Leadership Academy-Johnston was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .517. The last time their batting average was this high was back in February of 2024.

American Leadership Academy-Johnston's win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for South Garner, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
