Football Recap: Gordonsville Tigers vs. Stone Memorial Panthers
Gordonsville faced Stone Memorial in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Tigers took a 21-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, with their most recent loss being a 43-6 defeat back in April.
Stone Memorial found their leader in sophomore Lauren Clark, who rushed for 67 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 134 yards and one touchdown. Clark didn't just play on offense: she also made three total tackles and defended one pass in addition to snagging an interception.
Gordonsville now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Stone Memorial, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 16-1.
As of now, neither Gordonsville nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
