Wayland-Cohocton has gone a perfect 3-0 against Perry recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Yellowjackets at 4:30 p.m. Wayland-Cohocton will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Wayland-Cohocton came out on top against Hornell on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fifth inning. The Eagles blew past the Red Raiders 11-1. Considering the Eagles have won four matchups by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Perry hadn't beaten Warsaw on the road since April 29, 2019 but that history sure didn't bother them on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 5-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Yellowjackets.

Parker McGarvey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up 14 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Beau Solcum was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. He is becoming a predictor of Perry's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 3-1 (and 2-4 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Maximus Siewert, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Wayland-Cohocton pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Perry, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Wayland-Cohocton took their win against Perry in their previous matchup back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
