Softball Recap: Hockinson Comes Up Short

Hockinson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the R.A. Long Lumberjacks. The Hawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lumberjacks earlier this season, when they won 8-7.

Hockinson saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Renee Waddle, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Hockinson's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for R.A. Long, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-9-1.

Coming up, Hockinson will host Washougal at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.79 runs per game on average), something the Hawks will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for R.A. Long, they will take on Columbia River at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lumberjacks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rapids have averaged an impressive 10.8 runs per game this season.
