Recap: Grace Christian Academy EAGLES vs. Strong Rock Christian Patriots
The Grace Christian Academy EAGLES lost against the Strong Rock Christian Patriots back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The contest between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Grace Christian Academy falling 66-52.
Grace Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jamal Francis, who scored 11 points. Josiah Smith was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Leading Strong Rock Christian to victory were Asa Shearer and Zack Phillips. Shearer scored 20 points along with two steals, while Phillips scored 31 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which Phillips has scored at least a third of Strong Rock Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Stancil, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Grace Christian Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-4. As for Strong Rock Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 14-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grace Christian Academy will take on Covenant Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Covenant Christian Academy is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Strong Rock Christian, they will play host again and welcome Brookstone, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Brookstone will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 319th, while Strong Rock Christian is ranked 120th).
