South Point and Crest are an even 5-5 against one another since August of 2017, but not for long. The Red Raiders will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Chargers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with South Point sitting on six straight wins and Crest on three.
South Point is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They strolled past Monroe with points to spare, taking the game 61-42. The Red Raiders' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Kaveaun Pless and Jamir Jackson. Pless had a great game and rushed for 220 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.6 yards per carry. Meanwhile, Jackson was balling out in the loss, rushing for 108 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 carries.

South Point didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Brody Crawford, Kham Crawford, and Cayden Rumph picked up one apiece. Rumph has been hot recently, having posted at least one interception the last three times he's played.
Meanwhile, Crest didn't have too much trouble with East Lincoln on Friday as they won 31-14.
Crest's win came from a few key players South Point will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jason Black, who rushed for 102 yards and two scores on only 11 carries. Another player making a difference was Ely Hamrick, who rushed for 112 yards.
South Point's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Crest, their win bumped their record up to an identical 10-2.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. South Point has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 310.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Crest struggles in that department as they've been averaging 163.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
South Point took a serious blow against Crest in their previous meeting back in October, falling 42-7. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Hamrick, who rushed for 49 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 236 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.
