Softball Recap: Herscher Finds Home Field Redemption Against Yorkville Christian

There's no place like home for Herscher, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the Yorkville Christian Mustangs on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2023.

Lilly Tucek tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over 4.2 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Chloe Kinkade was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Keira Ahramovich, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Herscher moved to 13-8 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Yorkville Christian, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Herscher will host El Paso-Gridley at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers are facing the Titans at the right time seeing as the Titans are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Yorkville Christian, they will be playing at home against Providence Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
