Basketball Recap: Kimball Takes a Loss

Kimball was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 51-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Haxtun Fightin' Bulldogs.

Despite the loss, Kimball still got an impressive performance from Jaleigh Bohac, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. Bohac is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Clarika Hottell, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.

Even though they lost, Kimball smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Bobbi Starkebaum continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Haxtun, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds. With that strong performance, Starkebaum is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Kelsie Hadeen was another key player, putting up eight points and seven boards.

Kimball's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Haxtun, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.

Kimball wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 55-15 loss against Chase County on the 11th. As for Haxtun, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-37 win against Prairie on the 11th.
