Notre Dame hadn't beaten Trinity Christian on the road since April 28, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Wednesday. The Fighting Irish blew past the Warriors 9-0. Dominick Bombardiere was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. Notre Dame has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Preston, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-6.
Preston beat Notre Dame 9-4 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
