Soccer Game Preview: Marysville vs. Bishop Watterson

The Marysville Monarchs will head out on the road to square off against the Bishop Watterson Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Marysville and Thomas Worthington, and Thomas Worthington kept the tradition alive. The Monarchs fell just short of the CARDINALS by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for Marysville as the squad haven't won a game since August 18th.

Bishop Watterson had taken St. Charles down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Eagles fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 2-1.

Bishop Watterson's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4-2. As for Marysville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6-4.

Marysville came out on top in a nail-biter against Bishop Watterson when the teams last played back in September of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Monarchs since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
