Baseball Game Preview: Haughton Buccaneers vs. Captain Shreve Gators

For the second straight game, Haughton will face off against Captain Shreve. Haughton will be playing in front of their home fans against Captain Shreve at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Haughton's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Captain Shreve's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Haughton proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 13) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over Captain Shreve. The game was the first time the Buccaneers have beaten the Gators on their field since May 1, 2021.

Haughton is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.1 runs over those games. Captain Shreve has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-11 record this season.
