Softball Recap: Conant Takes a Loss

Conant managed to slip by Hopkinton the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Orioles came up short against the Hawks on Monday, falling 11-2. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Orioles couldn't push the score so high this time.

Sophia Spingola made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Khloe Kirby, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Conant's loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Hopkinton, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Conant will square off against Hillsboro-Deering at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hopkinton, they will be playing at home against Raymond at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
