Basketball Recap: George County Takes a Loss

George County was the 78-54 winner over Stone when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Rebels took a 60-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tomcats on Tuesday. Even if the Rebels couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Stone's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jabari Moye, who shot 40% from the field on his way to 21 points along with six boards and three steals. Lathan Posey was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to 11 rebounds and four blocks.

George County now has a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, George County will head out to take on East Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Stone, they will be playing at home against Long Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
