Softball Recap: San Mateo Triumphs

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only San Mateo walked away with it. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Pacific Grove Breakers on Saturday, sneaking past 9-8.

The team relied heavily on Demi Alfonso, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Alice Han, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

San Mateo's win bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Pacific Grove, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-7.

As of now, neither San Mateo nor the Breakers have any future games scheduled.
