Volleyball Recap: Oakville Takes a Loss

Oakville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against the Parkway South Patriots, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, with their most recent defeat being a 2-0 loss two weeks ago.

Oakville took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-22, 25-23.

Their offense was headlined by Carson Hulsey and Nate Czuppon, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Chase Bentrup and his 17 assists.

Parkway South was led to victory by Caden Rushing and Jack McClanahan. Rushing had four aces and three digs, while McClanahan had 12 digs. That's the most aces Rushing has posted since back in April.

Oakville's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Parkway South, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-12 record this season.

Oakville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Bayless on the 9th. As for Parkway South, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Parkway West on the 9th.
