Volleyball Recap: Sydney Jancosek's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Griffith over Merrillville

Griffith lost against Merrillville back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Panthers fell 2-0 to the Pirates.

Griffith's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sydney Jancosek, who had 16 digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasela Rutherford, who had 14 digs.

Griffith's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Merrillville, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Griffith wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Hebron on the 16th. As for Merrillville, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Highland on the 16th.
