Volleyball Game Preview: Dedham Marauders vs. Ashland Clockers

Dedham hasn't had much luck against Ashland recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Marauders will be playing at home against the Clockers at 5:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, Dedham didn't have quite enough to beat Ursuline Academy and fell 3-2.

Dedham took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 11-25, 22-25, 25-12, 15-11.

Meanwhile, Ashland had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Dedham better keep an eye on Quinn Herter. She was instrumental in Ashland's win, getting 12 digs and four aces. Herter has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last five times she's played. Marsia Carroll also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Ashland was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in six consecutive matchups.

Dedham's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Ashland, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.
