Oakbrook Prep lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Laurens Academy, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's game. Oakbrook Prep blew past Laurens Academy 8-2 on Tuesday. The victory was just business as usual for the Knights, who after 12 games remain undefeated this season.

Sam Hatcher made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bryce Horton, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Cade Spears also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Oakbrook Prep hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in six consecutive contests.

Oakbrook Prep pushed their record up to 12-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Laurens Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
