Softball Recap: Thomson Gets Some Payback Against Evans

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, Thomson finally came back down to earth on Monday. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Evans Knights. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played on September 6, 2023.

Thomson saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaliyah Ruff, who went 2-for-3 while logging 2 stolen bases, 1 RBI, and 1 run. Ruff has been locked in at the plate lately: she's hit .520 over her last 12 games vs .222 in her previous 14 games.

Even though they lost, Thomson took advantage of their speed and finished the game with four stolen bases. They have not posted that many stolen bases since the 10th, when they snagged 11.

Thomson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Evans, they are now 4-5, having gone 3-2 since their 3-game losing streak ended.

Coincidentally, Thomson and Evans will both be playing Glascock County the next time they take the field. The Knights will head out to face the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Bulldogs will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
