The Elkhart Lions are taking a road trip to take on the Westview Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Elkhart is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Elkhart came out on top against Culver Academies on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Lions never let the Eagles get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Not much got past Trevor Hilliard, who gave up just five hits to keep Culver Academies off the board. Hilliard has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Greg Guest was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Adrian Pettis also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Norwell hit Westview with a five-run first inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Warriors fell 6-2 to the Knights. The Warriors' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Westview saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brendan Miller, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Elkhart's win bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Westview, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.
