Recap: Lakewood Leopards vs. Midway Raiders
Even though the Lakewood Leopards have not done well against the Midway Raiders recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Lakewood came out on top against Midway by a score of 51-44. This was payback for Lakewood, who suffered a 49-44 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Lakewood's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dashaun Carr, who scored 19 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 steals. Another player making a difference was Kristofer Robinson, who scored 4 points along with 14 rebounds and 5 blocks.
Lakewood's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Midway, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakewood will take on Midway at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Midway, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Union at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Union comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
