Chicago Mt. Carmel got themselves on the board against IC Catholic Prep on Sunday, but IC Catholic Prep never followed suit. They blew past the Knights 9-0. The Caravan not only won on Sunday, but they posted their biggest win since March 18th.

Matt Murphy tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Joey Ireland, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Kolin Adams also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Chicago Mt. Carmel is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.2 runs over those games. As for IC Catholic Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Chicago Mt. Carmel and IC Catholic Prep will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Caravan are set to square off against their familiar foe St. Rita at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, IC Catholic Prep will face off against rival Fenwick at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
