Softball Preview: Guymon and Guthrie Arrive with the Scoreboard Rolling

Guymon has enjoyed a five-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will head out to challenge the Guthrie Bluejays at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

On Tuesday, Guymon got the win against Midwest City by a conclusive 15-4. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won seven games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Guymon saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was EMMA SCROGGIN, who went 2-for-4 while logging 2 stolen bases, 2 RBIs, and 1 double.

Meanwhile, Guthrie got themselves on the board against Midwest City on August 20th, but Midwest City never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Bombers with a sharp 12-0 victory.

Holland McLemore tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit allowed while striking out eight over five innings pitched.

Guthrie kept the fielders on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They have not posted that many hits since September 13th last year, when they also had 13.

Guymon has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That run has powered them to a 9-7 record this season. The wins were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. Guthrie's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2.
