Baseball Recap: United Beats Alexander for Their Fourth Straight Victory

United had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Alexander Bulldogs by a score of 7-2. The Longhorns have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

Alonso Barbarena spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hector Cadena was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. RJ Pina was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

United's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-10. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Alexander, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-8.

United will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulldogs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
