Football Game Preview: Johnston Dragons vs. Valley Tigers

The Johnston Dragons will take on the Valley Tigers on Friday. Johnston is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

Johnston is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Ankeny Centennial by a score of 34-26.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Valley beat Prairie 26-20 on Friday. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa football rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Hawks are ranked 29th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Johnston's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Valley, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 8-2.

Johnston couldn't quite finish off Valley in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 and fell 38-35. Can the Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
