Soccer Game Preview: Columbia vs. Stafford

The Columbia Roughnecks will face off against the Stafford Spartans at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Columbia's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

On Thursday, Columbia came up short against Almeta Crawford and fell 3-1.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Stafford, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They never let Needville onto the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Thursday. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Spartans were the better team in the second half.

Stafford's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matchups. As for Columbia, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6-1.
