Volleyball Recap: Bear River Comes Up Short

Bear River's tournament run continued when they took on Manteca on Saturday. The Bruins fell just short of the Buffaloes by a score of 2-1.

Kyle Smith paced Bear River's offense, picking up seven kills. Smith got some help from Ethan Tucker and his 26 assists. Smith was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

Bear River's defeat dropped their record down to 13-3. As for Manteca, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Bear River didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Bradshaw Christian on the 29th. As for Manteca, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Pitman on the 29th.
