Softball Game Preview: St. Patrick-St. Vincent Bruins vs. Vallejo Redhawks

The St. Patrick-St. Vincent Bruins will venture away from home to square off against the Vallejo Redhawks at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Patrick-St. Vincent has given up an average of 11 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

St. Patrick-St. Vincent couldn't beat Justin-Siena on Wednesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fifth inning. The Bruins lost 16-6 to the Braves.

Gabriella Wida made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. Savannah Drummer was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Vallejo came up short against Hercules on Friday, falling 12-2. The Redhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Vallejo's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for St. Patrick-St. Vincent, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Everything went St. Patrick-St. Vincent's way against Vallejo in their previous meeting back in February of 2020, as St. Patrick-St. Vincent made off with a 17-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bruins since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
