Volleyball Recap: Legacy Falls Short of Grandview in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Legacy can now relate to. They came up short against the Grandview Wolves on Saturday, falling 3-0. The Lightning were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wolves earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Grandview scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-17, 25-19.

Rafael Urbina paced Legacy's offense, picking up nine kills. Urbina really made an impact as he also led the team in assists with 23. He was also a major player on defense: he and he shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with three each.

Reese Dixon was the offensive standout of the contest as he had nine digs and two assists.

Legacy's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 23-5. As for Grandview, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 22-7.

Legacy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Grandview, they have already played their next match, a 3-2 defeat against Eaglecrest on the 10th.
