Softball Recap: North Pocono Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

The North Pocono Trojans beat the East Stroudsburg South Cavaliers 8-4 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

Amelia Bell made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Bell was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isabella Forgione, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. Riley Grambo was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

North Pocono hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Stroudsburg South struck out eight times.

North Pocono pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for East Stroudsburg South, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, North Pocono will challenge Dallas at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for East Stroudsburg South, they will take on Nazareth Area at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
